From July 24 to July 26，2023，Juthamas Tiansaard, the Lecturer along with 5 postgraduate representatives from Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Mahidol University(RSON) visited the School of Nursing, and two affiliated hospitals.
On July 24，the delegation went to the Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of HUST. Geng Li, Deputy Director of the nursing department, Xu Yulan, Zhou Wenjuan, the Chief Nurses, Huang Haiyan, Xiao Fei, the Head Nurses attended the welcoming meeting. In her speech, Geng Li expressed her hope that through this friendly exchange, both sides will learn and gain from each other and jointly promote the development of nursing in China and Thailand. Liu Jie, Mi Yuanyuan, Xie Jie from the nursing department introduced the ICU, the ICU evidence-based nursing model and the Chronic Disease Management Team of the Union Hospital respectively.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Hospital History Museum, and then went to the Endocrinology Ward，the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine for exchanges, where both sides shared their practical experiences on the care of diabetic patients in China and Thailand, and the management of COPD.
Then, the delegates had in-depth discussions with doctors in the Departments of Anesthesiology, Neurosurgery ICU, Cardiac Macrovascular Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery ICU and Critical Care Medicine on the key points of anesthesia resuscitation of post-surgical patients, and the difficulties in nursing care of neurosurgical patients.
On July 25，the delegation visited Tongji Hospital, meeting up with Zeng Tieying, Deputy Director of the nursing department, He Xifei, Wang Mei, Xiong Jie, the Chief Nurses. The meeting was hosted by head nurse Xi Xinxue. Zeng Tieying warmly welcomed the teacher and students from Thailand and expected both sides to promote and make progressduring the visit.Zhang Meng from the Teaching Office of Nursing Department and Juthamas Tiansaard shared views on the history of their respective hospitals, nursing management and scientific research, training of nursing students to enhance mutual understanding.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Intensive Care Ward of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Ward, Department of Critical Care Medicine, and Tongji Hospital History Museum. While getting a comprehensive understanding of the history and modern development of Tongji Hospital, the two sides focused on the "Integrated Management of Chronic Diseases", experienced the "Multi-modal Diabetes Health Education Practices" and “Cardiac Rehabilitation Training” with the actual cases in the wards. They started a discussion on the "Professional Role of Nurses in the Field of Intensive Care from an International Perspective" as well.
On July 26, Juthamas Tiansaard and the 5 students, accompanied by the School of Nursing, paid an visit to Tongji Medical College campus as well as iconic landscapes on the HUST main campus, to deeply experience the history, culture and humanistic heritage.
The delegation from RSON expressed their heartfelt thanks to the School of Nursing and the affiliated hospitals for thewarm reception，speaking highly of the precise medical equipment and exquisite medical technology.
