From July 7th to July 13th, 2024, four student representatives from the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Thailand visited the School of Nursing and the Affiliated Hospitals for a week of study and exchange.

On the morning of July 8, the welcome ceremony was successfully held. Wang Furong, Dean of the School of Nursing, Hu Deying, Deputy Director of the Nursing Department of the Affiliated Union Hospital, and Xi Xinxue, Specialist Nurse of the Nursing Department of the Affiliated Tongji Hospital, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Xu Hui,Chair of the school Committeeof the School of Nursing.

Wang Furong pointed out that in March 2023, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Mahidol University signed the Key Partnership Agreement, laying a solid foundation for higher-level cooperation. In December 2023, School of Nuring and the Faculty of Nursing officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement and a Student Exchange Agreement, aiming to further deepen our friendship and strengthen pragmatic cooperation in the field of nursing. Notably,this summer,four undergraduate students from the School of Nursing went to Thailand to participate in the summer camp conducted by the Faculty of Nursing. This is not only a significant exchange between two schools, but also another remarkable example of the academic and cultural interactions between China and Thailand.

Peeradet Nilrod, a student representative of the FDaculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, expressed his gratitude to the School of Nursing, Tongji Medical College,HUST and Technology, for providing the opportunity. He is so greatful for the warm reception and considerate arrangements. He is glad that his exchange journey started at HUST and looks forward to broadening his horizons, deepening his understanding of cultural diversity and unity, as well as deepening the friendship between the two universities.

From July 8 to July 12,the student delegationparticipated in the 2024 Tongji Summer School course "Global Health: The Changing Landscape"along with 132 students from around the world. They worked with the group members to successfully complete the presentation and receive the certificate.

From July 8th to July 9th,the student delegationvisited Tongji Hospital. The Nursing Department of Tongji Hospital presented the cultural commemorative wood carvings to them.

After the welcome ceremony, the student delegation visited the Intensive Care Unit of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, the Department of Endocrinology, the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, the Orthopedics, the Department of Urology and the Trauma Surgery ICU of Tongji Hospital. Based on the actual cases in the ward, they discussed the key points of respiratory rehabilitation training, diabetic patient care, cardiac rehabilitation training, hip replacement rehabilitation training, tumor postoperative urostomy nursing and trauma nursing models.

From July 10th to July 11th,the student delegationwent to Union Hospital for exchanges. Geng Li, Deputy Director of the Nursing Department of Union Hospital, attended the reception ceremony, she extended a warm welcome and looked forward to taking this exchange as an opportunity for the two sides to enhance understanding.

The student delegation visited the Institute of Hematology, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Outpatient and Emergency Department of Union Hospital. They discussed practical experience in the rehabilitation treatment of patients with blood diseases, health education and enteral nutrition technology of enterostomy specialist nursing, postoperative nursing process for cardiac patients, recovery after adenoidectomy, postpartum pelvic floor muscle strength rehabilitation training, treatment of premature infants, umbilical vein catheterization, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation rescue procedures.

On July 12th, the student delegationvisited the History Museum of HUST.

After the exchange,the student delegationexpressed their heartfelt gratitude to the School of Nursing and the Affiliated Hospitals for their warm welcoming, and highly praised the advanced medical equipment and exquisite medical technology of the Affiliated Hospitals.
