MoU renewed between the School of Nursing and Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing

In November 2023, the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) between Johns Hopkins University(JHU) and Huazhong University of Science and Technology(HUST) was completed, featuring the cooperation between the School of Nursing of the two universities. Both sides will enhance mutual trust and deepen ties as well as jointly promoting the nursing discipline.



The MOU specifies that both parties will continue to support various projects to enhance cooperation in nursing education, research and other fields. These include joint curriculum advising, exchange of faculty and students, joint research, publication activities, and joint conferences and academic workshops. The two universities will lay out a mutual trust and win-win cooperation network to cultivate more nursing talents with an international perspective.




Founded in 1876, Johns Hopkins University is the first research university in the United States and one of the founding schools of the American Association of Universities (AAU). It is ranked seventh in the U.S. Best Colleges by U.S. News in 2022-2023. Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, founded in 1889, is ranked third in 2023 by QS World University Rankings in the discipline of Nursing, first in the nation for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and second for the Master of Science in Nursing program, making it the top school of nursing in the United States.

In 2017, the two universities signed the MOU on cooperation between nursing, and the first renewal was completed in 2020. Over the past 6 years, the two sides have developed a practical cooperative relationship.

Two doctoral students from School of Nursing, TJMC of HUST were jointly trained by the two universities; two faculty members from School of Nursing, TJMC of HUST went to Johns Hopkins University for a one-year visit; three faculty members and five students from School of Nursing, TJMC of HUST went to Johns Hopkins University to participate in the international conference. The two nursing schools co-organized the "International Academic Conference on Nursing(Online)". Prof. Patricia M. Davidson, the former Dean of the School of Nursing, JHU, was appointed as a visiting professor at HUST. Professor Robert Atkins, Executive Vice Dean, Professor Nancy Reynolds, Vice Dean and six other experts from School of Nursing, JHU were invited to participate in the international conference hosted by School of Nursing, TJMC of HUST.

In the future, the two sides will further strengthen the foundation of cooperation, work hand in hand, look to the future, and make greater contributions to human health.
