From December 3, 2022 to January 7, 2023, invited by the School of Nursing, Professor Dianxu Ren, Director for  Statistical Support Services of the Center for Research and Evaluation at the School of Nursing, University of Pittsburgh, conducted online courses and dissertation workshops funded by the “Yuyuan·Home” program.

On December 3, 2022, the international bilingual course "Applied Statistics and Data Analysis" kicked off, attracting more than 400 students, young scholars, nurses and doctors from Wuhan University, Zhejiang University, Zhengzhou University and beyond for enrollment. The course was divided into nine topics, including "Commonly Used Statistical Procedures ", "Normal Distribution", "Hypothesis Testing" with data analysis software demonstration to help students grasp the basic methods of evaluating statistical data in the academic literature.

The students said that the course not only deepened their understanding of the principles of statistics, but also familiarized them with the common statistical analysis software. The course has largely improved the students' English ability and international academic perspective.

In addition, Prof. Ren was invited to conduct three online Academic Paper Writing Workshops to instruct 12 graduate students of the School of Nursing on paper writing, polishing, submitting and revising. Professor Ren gave detailed guidance on paired data analysis, pre and post-test questionnaire data comparison, and systematic review. From a professional point of view, he combined his own experience and provided clear and effective suggestions for the 12 students in terms of overall structure of the paper.

Yuyuan·Home project further strengthened the partnership between the School of Nursing and the School of Nursing at University of Pittsburgh. At the same time, this project also laid a solid foundation for the future cooperation of research projects and joint training of talents between the two sides.
