Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It is one of the universities included in the national "211 Project" and "985 Project," and is also among the first group of universities selected for the "Double First-Class" initiative. The nursing education at HUST originated in the 1930s, and the undergraduate nursing program was established in 2001. Over the decades, the university has continuously innovated and expanded, aiming to cultivate high-level nursing professionals. With a focus on English-taught courses and interdisciplinary integration, the university has developed a multi-level talent training system covering undergraduate, master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral programs. It has been recognized as a national first-class undergraduate program and a provincial first-class undergraduate program. The university is home to the first-level doctoral program in nursing science (the only one in Hubei Province), and was rated as an A+ discipline in the 2022 Times Higher Education assessment. In the 2024 QS World University Rankings, it was ranked among the top 100 in the nursing discipline.
The School of Nursing closely aligns with the demands of contemporary development and cutting-edge technological trends, actively laying out and deepening multiple key research directions. We are committed to building an interdisciplinary and innovative academic platform. While we focus on the core areas of traditional nursing disciplines, we also emphasize "Nursing + X" interdisciplinary research to promote multi-disciplinary collaborative innovation. Our main research areas include the optimization of elderly health service systems, chronic disease management and health promotion, life-cycle health management, mental health and behavioral interventions, community health and disease prevention, rehabilitation nursing and functional reconstruction, and the development of nursing informatics and intelligent nursing systems. Currently, the school is focusing on frontier fields such as "big health," "big data," and "artificial intelligence." Through interdisciplinary research methods and innovative technological approaches, we explore the in-depth mining and application of health data, providing scientific evidence and technical support for improving nursing quality, optimizing health management models, and promoting the development of the health industry. The school has assembled a professional and diverse research team, bringing together experts from computer science, artificial intelligence, clinical medicine, public health, medical and health management, and management engineering. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, we have achieved in smart elderly care, accelerated rehabilitation, and integrated medical-nursing systems. Additionally, the school relies on top-tier affiliated hospitals such as Union Hospital and Tongji Hospital, which serve as important bases for clinical teaching, internships, and research practice and innovation. With two national clinical key specialties in specialized nursing and clinical nursing, the school provides high-quality clinical resources and strong support for the development of the nursing discipline.
I.Position Requirements
1. A doctoral degree, with applicants under the age of 35 preferred.
2. Strong English proficiency and ability to independently draft research papers.
- Domestic graduates (including foreign nationals): Published at least 2 papers as first/corresponding author or 1 JCR Q2 paper.
- International/Overseas graduates: Published at least 1 paper as first/corresponding author.
- Candidates with equivalent academic achievements or exceptional research potential are also encouraged to apply.
3. Background in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Psychology, or related disciplines; strong research capabilities, academic ethics, teamwork spirit, and commitment to full-time postdoctoral research.
II. Benefits and Support
1.Competitive salary: An annual salary of no less than RMB 300,000(with negotiable terms for exceptionally qualified candidates). The standard appointment period is 2–3 years.
